The three CMS software that we show you today are: Drupal , Joomla and WordPress . All three are Open Source , so they can be downloaded for free and can be modified according to your needs.
Drupal
Drupal offers advanced functions and a particularly flexible code, so for those with a minimum of knowledge of the sector, it can be easily modified. Drupal has a community of developers who offer help in creating a website focused on optimized code. The downside of Drupal is that it is not a user-friendly CMS , therefore suitable for beginners.

- Fully expandable in its multiple functions
- Wide range of themes downloadable from the net, free or paid
- Perfect management of user roles and permissions
- Simple to set up and install
Cons :
- Not very intuitive
- It takes time, and a minimum of technical knowledge, to learn how to use it
Joomla
Joomla is the most used CMS by designers and webmasters, thanks to its particularly customizable interface, the presence of many plugins and various extensions allows the creation of websites suitable for every need. The negative side of this Cms is the need for technical knowledge of the sector, to be able to use it at its best, as it is not very intuitive and easy to use.

- The multiple plug-ins available make Joomla the perfect solution for any type of website
- Excellent management of user roles and permissions. It is also possible to create users with certain privileges, adaptable to any type of situation.
Cons :
- Like Drupal , Joomla is also not intuitive and it is not easy to use so, even for this software, a minimum of technical knowledge of the sector is required.
WordPress
WordPress is the most popular platform in this field, thanks to its ease of installation and use. It offers multiple functions such as comments, trackbacks, blogger profiles, etc. The downside of WordPress is that it is not developer-friendly and its community is much smaller than that of the other 2 Cms .
Pros :
- SEO: with this CMS even those who do not have particular technical knowledge can achieve excellent positioning in the various search engines
- Easy to use and has a complete language support completely in Italian
- The graphics are completely customizable thanks to the themes available online, free or for a fee
- Excellent and recommended for the creation of blogs
Cons :
- Initially not very clear about the management and distinction of user roles and permissions.
- For a more complex and complete customization, it is necessary to modify the source code
Conclusions
We can conclude that the choice of the type of Cms depends on one’s own technical knowledge. We therefore recommend WordPress to the less practical in the sector given its ease of use, Drupal for the more experienced who will exploit all its potential and Joomla to those who have already had experience in the field, and want to improve themselves using a platform that has everything necessary to the creation of any type of website.
