How to open a business ? If you want to start your own business you will surely be happy to know that with careful planning, an adequate initial budget and good management, you can start a successful shop or business in a much easier way than a while ago.

Let’s start to see what are the requirements required by law:

• have reached the age of majority
• have no previous bankruptcy declarations
• be resident in Italy
• have not received criminal convictions or regulatory restrictions

  • qualifying courses etc etc

The license, on the other hand, is no longer necessary for almost all activities except in some specific cases.

Finally, further requirements are required for the premises that must have the right destination and comply with all urban planning, health, safety, etc. regulations.

What is the bureaucratic procedure to open a business?

The bureaucratic process to open your business is as follows:

• opening of the VAT number
• registration in the Register of Companies at the Chamber of Commerce
• regulation of INPS and INAIL positions (social security and insurance)
• communication of the start of business at the municipality (at least 30 days before starting)

Costs

The budget you will need to open your business or store depends on many factors.

Which? Surely the type of activity you are going to carry out, the size of the premises you will choose, the positioning etc etc

Making a generic estimate we can say that you will need a minimum investment of at least 20,000 / 30,000 euros.

Of course, the sum changes as each activity must be structured in a different way.

The elements that generate the greatest costs are:

• Premises (rent, utilities, network connection, renovations, general
imbalances ) • Bureaucratic requirements, consultancy and licenses
• Furniture, equipment, software and hardware, first supplies
• Employees
• Advertising
