Which are the best browsers and which ones are right for you? A comparison of the most used browsers
There is no single answer but we can choose the browser to use based on our priorities: in particular, we compare browsers based on user experience, speed, security, customization and RAM consumption.
Google Chrome
In 2020, more than 60% of users, according to Statista, used Google Chrome as a browser, available for free for Windows, Mac and Linux. The interface is simple and intuitive but not very customizable but the browser has numerous extensions to expand the functionality of Google Chrome and adapt it to every need. A feature that we all appreciate is the synchronization with the Google account which allows you to switch between the desktop and mobile version while maintaining bookmarks, passwords and history.
An advantage is certainly the speed of Google Chrome in fact, despite being known as a “RAM-eating” browser, it still manages to maintain a good balance between performance and RAM consumption, as long as you don’t overdo it with extensions.
Google is a secure browser thanks to the use of a dedicated sandbox for each process, to the separation of activities into distinct processes and to link and download control systems. While it may not seem like it, there are several options for blocking advertisements, crawlers, and website scripts.
Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is also a free browser available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Unlike Google Chrome, the interface is extremely customizable in every aspect and button; expandability is also a strong point because the browser has renewed all its extensions to offer more functionality, without sacrificing speed.
Mozilla Firefox is also great when it comes to security and privacy because it has an advanced blocking system for tracking cookies .
S afari
Safari is the default browser on Mac and MacBook. The interface is made ad hoc and the browser is certainly among the fastest on Mac thanks to the complete integration with the operating system. Safari offers a good level of protection, also thanks to the security updates that are provided as an integral part of the ecosystem.
However, it cannot be customized like Chrome at the extension level.
Opera
Opera is a browser very similar to Chrome, based on the Chromium open source project. Many additional features of Google Chrome are already built into Opera by default. Microsoft Edge

Brave

- You can control access to the autoplay feature on a site-by-site basis
- It allows you to block standard scripts, crawlers and advertisements
In addition to Windows and Mac computers, the browser could also be installed on iPhones and Android devices, allowing you to save a high volume of data.
